To help navigate our site and find the content that you are interested in we put our posts and articles in different themes.

On this page we explain a little bit more about what those themes mean.  As you will see sometimes our posts will be relevant to two or more different ones, so if you are searching by theme you might find them in more than one place. 

We’ll add more as we develop more content, but if there is something you would like us to write about please do let us know and we’ll see what we can do. 

 

News Story of the Day is where we pick a current story with risk or venture-related topic to make some comments on. We can’t promise we will be able to make a new post every day, but we’ll do our best.

Practical Risk Management is for discussion of ideas and concepts from technical risk management that can be applied in a practical way to every day life. Let’s try to make life better using some risk management techniques.

STEEPLED refers to a framework of macro-environmental factors that can be used during analysis of markets or operating environments. STEEPLED stands for Social, Technological, Economic, Environmental, Political, Legal, Ethical and Demographic. We debated for a while whether to call this one PEST or PESTLE instead. In this theme the content will be relevant to one or more of these factors. We may separate these into individual themes in due course however we are keeping it this way for now.

ISOs and Frameworks is all about risk standards and other formal frameworks. Expect content to include posts on 31000, 31050, 22316 amongst others. We are not writing risk management manuals here, so even when we are talking about technical topics we will try to make it as accessible as possible.

Wellbeing is about feeling health and happy. How you feel influences what you are capable of, so let’s try to feel as healthy and happy as we can.
